Showcase Kerim Seiler

29 October 2024 – February 2025

Exhibition at Boutique & Art Hotel Helvetia, Stauffacherquai 1-3, Zurich

Swiss artist Kerim Seiler is showing a varied selection of works including drawings, woodcut prints, sculptures and a neon installation. The exhibition doesn’t stop in the public spaces such as the “Wunderkammer”, but finds its way into the hotel as a permanent installation: the Kerim-Seiler-Room.

Kerim Seiler (*1974 in Bern) is known for his dynamic, sitespecific works in the fields of installation, sculpture, performance and printmaking. He operates in the fields of art, science and pop culture. While he used to focus on urban objects in largescale paintings, he now focuses on spatial and light installations in public spaces.

Seiler gained international attention with works such as What, if for the opening of the Gotthard Base Tunnel and the performance series Space is my Canvas, which was also presented at the Venice Biennale. Another highlight is the 250-metrelong neon light installation at Zurich Central Station, which has been on view for more than 10 years. His works are often interactive, such as the Come Together project at the Locarno Film Festival.

Boutique Hotel Helvetia and its sister Boutique Hotel Volkshaus Basel understand contemporary art as part of their DNA. Through collaborations with artists, galleries and the active involvement of founders Adrian Hagenbach and Leopold Weinberg, art becomes part of every day life in the context of their Boutique-Hotels.
